Doing the right thing....

Well eveyone at work has been in a tizzy. Dr. P called us together to tell us we would be getting our scheduled April 15th raises. He also told us the economy had'nt affected our practice. We were doing very well. Then he says instead of our normal 4 or 5% raise we are only getting 2%. And some people would'nt be getting that. If our practice is doing so good why don't we get a decent raise. Our Garner office works so well together. We are all like a Big Family and we bust our Asses to get our jobs done and make sure our patients have a good dental experience. Its not like our other office were they have some serious Drama all the time, not to mention that office does'nt go a full week without someone calling in sick. Then the 2 new doctors....work in alot of patients through out the day. That happens quite a bit and we all pull together and make it work. They take trips all the time..Hawaii..Jamaica..Bahamas Final Four...... Its frustrating to know our practice is thriving and were only getting a little raise. I guess something is better than nothing and I need to be thankfull.........But this next thing Im going to blogg about really takes the cake..
Ok so Dr Parrish father in law passed away last week. Dr Parrish came in and worked untill 11, then left to go to the funeral. Well we did our little bit of cleaning made sure our drawers had eveything we needed for next week and we closed the office and drove an hour to Wade for the funeral. I have been here for 21 years and we are a close group. Anytime a docs family member dies we close the office and go to the funeral. If you choose not to go you get docked or you have to stay at the office and clean. We get our pay stubs and see we have all been docked for that day. To say it nicely we were very Pissed!!! What happened to the day people did the right thing??? I felt going to the funeral and paying my respects was the thing to do. Dr P and his wife were so touched to see us, she just cried when I hugged her. I was glad I went regardless of if I got payed or not. Any way........My opinion of this doctor has gone down!!! The new one that docked us all. I was warming up to him and really getting to know him. Now I'm not too happy with either of them. I am really dreading the day when the older 2 retire because I have a feeling we will all be SCREWED!!! and it wont be any fun!!!!
